Mistaken Identity11 August 2007

Spam emails are being sent out signed as if they came from the digitalgraphiclabs.com domain.  Rest assured that this is a case of spammers signing another company's name on their emails.  These emails are not originating on our servers.  We are doing all we can to track down this unlawful use of our corporate brand.

 Yee-haw!16 October 2006

Country and Métis traditional vocalist Krista Rey's site went online at the beginning of the month, just in time for her trek to Nashville, Tennessee to perform for some industry VIPs.

 Goodbye, Joe VaSSallo2 August 2006

Canada has lost a well-respected member of the art community with the passing of Joe VaSSallo.  You will be missed, friend.

 Photo Retouching10 May 2006

We just finished an interesting project - retouching thirty-nine early-1900s family photos and reproducing them as new photographic prints for the descendants of one of the Fathers of Confederation.  Probably one of the biggest photo retouch jobs we've taken on, based on number of photos, the condition of the originals and the subject matter.

 A Decade of Design1 May 2006

Well, we did it.  Today marks ten years in business under the Digital Graphic Labs banner, a name that seemed a lot more tech sitting in that restaurant in the spring of 1996 where the appellation process occurred.  Thanks to Lisa, Shaun, Kev, Roy, Cecile and my mom and dad for being there from the start and believing in one man's dream.  Thanks to our clients as well, without your projects we wouldn't be here.

 Scrapdotted?17 January 2006

We'd like to send out a hello to the scrapbooking enthusiasts that have been sent here after our free fonts.  According to the download counter, there have been 79,500 downloads of our free font package, totaling nearly three and a half million of our typefaces in use received from our servers alone.

 Targets Beware!16 January 2006

Congratulations to the Saskatoon Shooting Excellence Training Group on their recognition by the Canadian Sport Centre and Shooting Federation of Canada.  It's been fun designing for such a passionate group of marksmen.

 Very Funny, Guys6 October 2005

Looks like DGL Project Manager Brenden Roemich has made Rob Cockerham's alphabetical list of perfectionists.  When reached for comment he only said, "if the layout app is mathematically accurate to 3 decimal places, I'll use them all."

 Summer Update2 August 2005

Not often does one get to mix business with their hobby.  Check out the Custom Shop by Axiom Audio that we modeled, surfaced and rendered the 3D visualizations for – 189 distinct rendered images, one for each of the pairings of finish and grill cloth.

 DGL Turns 9!9 May 2005

A happy "pottery" anniversary to Digital Graphic Labs.  Thanks as always to our clients and staff.

 Yearly Update?23 Feb 2005

Due to internal pressure from the other members of the DGL crew to update the news section of the site, here's a little of what's been happening around here:

Our congratulations go out to camera operator Chris and his lovely wife on the birth of their baby boy (this announcement is so late, he's learning to walk now).

We'd also like to welcome aboard the new members of the team around here.

Our hit counter gets wiped out on a regular basis, so without pouring through the logs, I can't comment on how many hits we receive, but the download counter is at 53,000 for our free fonts.

To our clients: if you want to be listed on our client list, drop us a line - unless we hear from you, we don't list you out of respect for your privacy.  Our apologies to those who thought they were being slighted by not appearing there.

 We've Moved!20 Jan 2004

Our physical and mailing address has changed, see the contact section for more information and for our new address.

Young Workers Information Now In French26 Nov 2003

We would like to share our pride in being involved with the Workers of Tomorrow Health and Safety Campaign and help them announce the launch of their French language site dedicated to providing information to young workers.

 Promo Notepads1 Oct 2003

 25,000 hits!30 Sept 2003

Our apologies for the lack of news and updates during the summer months, but we're back now to thank everyone for pushing us over the 25,000 website hits mark and for the more than 26,000 downloads of our type library from our servers alone.

 Overwhelming Response!19 May 2003

We have received overwhelming response to our free type offer, about one download every 5 seconds, so please be patient.

Also, to clear up the confusion, Digital Graphic Labs is not going out of business, in fact, it is the explosive growth of the design and development side of the business that forced the closing of the Type Division.  The layout, animation and production services will continue stronger than ever with the extra resources made available.

 Happy 7th, DGL!1 May 2003

Seven years ago today, Digital Graphic Labs officially opened for business.  We had no idea how quickly we would be embraced and become a part of the design landscape.  Many thanks to everyone who has helped make this a possibility, and to the crew for their tireless work.

 Font Foundry Closed15 April 2003

It is with great regret we have to make the announcement that we've closed the type division.  It simply required too much time and human resources to maintain.  What does this all mean?  FREE FONTS!  We've made our retail fonts available free to download and use.  Find them here.
